This photo is not legit. Meaning I've staged it. This is because I am attempting to tell a story, using only one still frame.

This is not an easy endeavor. In life we are used to things being explained to us, and most of this explanation is done in a combination of three ways: Verbally, Physically and Emotionally. In a still image we eliminate the first, as there is no audio associated with an image, the second is still slightly relevant, as you can see some of the actions used to create the image, but the third is completely preserved, as the lighting, angle and position of the subject matter can be used expertly to portray the desired emotion.

Not to say I'm an expert, far from it. During this adventure I hope to be able to take what little knowledge I have of this subject and grow it, learning to apply the art of portraying emotion in a frame to my interest as a sketch artist.
